As Of Counsel at Comfield Legal, Andrea von Finckh advises companies on setting up compliance management systems (CMS) and carrying out internal investigations. Her focus is on criminal law issues and the implementation of whistleblowing systems.
She studied law at the Freie Universität Berlin, served as a criminal court judge, and is a certified specialist lawyer for criminal law. After her time on the bench, she moved to a renowned Berlin criminal law firm, where she worked as defense counsel in numerous white collar crime proceedings. She subsequently moved to the compliance department of a large, internationally operating corporation.
There, Andrea served for many years as compliance officer for one of the group's subsidiaries, where she set up both the CMS and the risk management system. In this role, she supported the subsidiary in its dealings with investigation authorities and in dialogues with business partners.
Andrea is a member of the Mittelstand (SME) and Criminal Law"working groups of the German Institute for Compliance (DICO) and is active as a speaker and workshop leader on these topics at compliance networking events.
